From Wednesday 25th March, Exeter Health Library staff will be working remotely for the foreseeable future.
The Library is currently still open and available for you to use, equipped with 18 NHS networked PCs and quiet study space. Doors are open 0830-1730, Monday to Friday. Those who are registered for 24/7 access will still be able to access the library whenever they need to. Library access will be reviewed, and may change in accordance to government and Trust advice.
Our book collection is there to be browsed and borrowed using the self-issue facilities or our book alarm report sheets – detailed instructions are provided in the Library. As per our previous update, we are advising borrowers to keep hold of their books until further notice. The book drop in Oasis is closed, and we are not placing reservations, renewing items, sending reminders or issuing fines or other charges.
You can of course still access our e-resources using your NHS OpenAthens login. If you aren’t already registered you can sign up here. And if you need articles from journals we don’t subscribe to we are still tracking these down from other sources for you – just continue to submit your requests as usual – although supply times may vary as other libraries are also facing challenging circumstances.
We are monitoring our inbox and will endeavour to respond to enquiries, including requests for support with searching, in a timely fashion.
Our Literature Searching service continues too, an online search request form is available.
Please note we will not be picking up messages on our answerphone – apologies for the inconvenience.
Our website is a fantastic source of information on all our services, from Topic Guides providing information resources for a whole host of specialities, to hints and tips for conducting your own searches, as well as all the forms you need to request services from the team. You can also find up to date information about our service offer as the impact of COVID19 plays out.
